do you have any formal dresses that could be worn to prom?
Hi! We have some amazing prom options at BleuBelle Bridal! Our favorite prom designer is Dave and Johnny, and we can order you anything from their site. We also have lots of great options off the rack in the store if you want to stop in and check them out. Maybe we will do a prom post soon!!
So, you might not know that I am just as passionate about makeup as I am about fashion, and lipstick is my latest obsession. I dug around in my makeup drawer and found dozens of interesting shades, some of them years old (oops). I remember from reading Making Faces by the makeup master, Kevyn Aucoin, that Japonesque makes a little empty palette to which you can add all of your favorites. So, I went on over to Amazon where I found this:
Hooray! They have made it even easier for us by providing all the tools needed to make this:
I started by cleaning out my drawer and trying out everything from little Clinique sample size GWP lippies to some old NARS favorites that I haven’t broken out in years. Then I just cut off the top (you’ll only need less than half of a tube) and put it in the little silicone bowl provided in the kit. Pop it in the microwave for 1 minute, stir with the little spoon, and pour into your chosen slot! That’s it!!
Now, if you are like me and you hoard makeup way past its expiration date, you can add a little bit of your favorite lip balm to freshen it up a bit (mine is good ole’ Carmex - strawberry flavored!). I also tell myself that heating it up in the microwave zaps any bacterial ickies, haha!
Some extra tips:
Make sure to stir the lipstick well before you pour, especially if it has shimmer or you are adding anything to it
Feel free to mix and match favorites, just remember that a matte with a shimmer will make a shimmer
Don’t over pour, fill it to just below the rim
Don’t move the case after you have poured to make sure the lipstick has time to set
Hope you have as much fun as I did making this brilliant little kit!
